dialogue poems

Dialogue poems are, for me, a form of written conversation between that which is here and not here, that which is alive and is not, that which once was and that which is now, that which we can understand and that which we cannot.  Inspired by Danielle Badra’s brilliant book “Dialogue with the Dead,” I have woven these conversations into words in the poems below.

Dialogue poems are to be read across a line, as one poem, and then down each individual column as their own poems.  After each of these poems is an explanation of the origin of the words to, through, from, between, and within which I am writing and in dialogue.
